6P Green Program

The 6P Green Program is an environment improvement program that measures your carbon footprint and helps to develop strategies to reduce emissions.

The program is a unique workshop-based program that creates an environment management plan and ISO 14001 compliant system. The program is delivered over 6 easy steps and can be run for a single organisation or in a group situation with multiple organisations participating.

The Benefits

Our experience shows that participating organisations can conservatively reduce their energy consumption by around 10% after implementing the program. This means that the program often pays for itself in the first year! As part of the program, participants also receive a licence to a leading carbon management system which takes care of the carbon accounting for you. If your organisation is looking to conduct business with the Government or major corporations, the 6P Program satisfies the environmental requirement. And, the program aligns perfectly with numerous third party accreditations.

The 6 P's are;

People

This first step educates your people on climate change and global warming. We discuss the green economy and how the Government, non-government organisations, business and the community are responding to the issue of climate change. We explore environmental policies and committment statements and what other organisations are doing around the globe.

Policies & Procedures

During this step, we explore environmental legislation and the International Standard ISO 14001. The program includes a complete ISO 14001 compliant management system and policy documents that can be tailored for your organisation. 

Power

This step looks at the consumption of electricity in your organisation, and identifies where the highest usage occurs. Your people learn how electricity is consumed, how it is charged and what can be done to reduce your consumption through good practice. We discuss relevant initiatives that could be implemented in your organisation to reduce your consumption by considering behaviour, building structure and equipment.

Petrol

If your organisation has a fleet of vehicles or utilises cars or trucks for business use, we consider the ways that consumption can be reduced. We also look at air travel for business purpose and develop initiatives to reduce the need for travel interstate or internationally. Your people will discuss methods of scheduling vehicles, the benefits of regular servicing and types of enviornmentally friendly vehicles that are available.

Process

You may be familiar with the term Lean Manufacturing , developed by Toyota in Japan. Lean Manufacturing uses a structured process of identifying waste in an organisation and develops methods to reduce it. We apply Lean Manufacturing concepts to the 6P Program and discuss waste in your organisation with a view to reduce or eliminate it wherever possible.

Procurement

The final step is reviewing your supplies and suppliers for their own sustainable practices. There is little point in being green yourself if you are using goods or services from other organisations that do not share your sustainability values. We provide a template to review your suppliers and discuss initiatives to bring them along on the journey.
